The victim was identified as 36-year-old Josie Huff of Sullivan County in a Facebook post from the Vigo County Sheriff's Office. The update, titled "Fatal Accident Update," confirmed that deputies responded to the crash on State Road 246 and remained on scene through the investigation.
Crash Details And Early Findings
Local reporting indicates the collision involved a cargo van and an SUV at the intersection of East State Road 246 and South All Street. Preliminary information suggests the van was traveling east when the SUV failed to yield, according to HI-99.
WTHI-TV reported that one person was pronounced dead at the scene and that emergency crews closed portions of SR 246 while investigators documented the crash. The closure stretched into the evening as first responders cleared debris and removed the damaged vehicles.
