
A 55-year-old man died after a brutal beating in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood late Tuesday, according to police. Officers found the man in the 1200 block of South Keeler Avenue and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died.
Officers responded to the scene at about 8:35 p.m. and discovered the man with severe injuries, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Two witnesses told police that two people beat the victim and then ran off toward the west. Police said no one was in custody.
Investigation underway
Detectives from the Chicago Police Department are treating the attack as a homicide and have not released the victim's name or any possible motive.
