Castro Nail Salon officially reopened after moving to its new location at 4359 18th Street (at Eureka Street).

Castro Nail Salon and Castro Coffee Company were both forced to vacate their longtime locations earlier this year, as the two stores shared the same building as the historic Castro Theatre, which the Nasser Family owns.
Castro Coffee Company has since reopened at 421 Castro Street, just one door up from its old location.
Another Planet Entertainment (APE), which now manages the theater, has plans to convert one of the spaces into a box office.

Khoury has been working on remodeling the new space since the spring, including new plumbing, electrical, adding an ADA bathroom, and fresh paint. Public records indicate construction costs were estimated at $97,000.
The space was previously home to Big Cleaners, which closed in August 2020.
Khoury tells Hoodline that the reopening was delayed while the landlord worked to properly permit an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) that was added to the ground floor.
Just starting to settle into his new location, Khoury says, "It's much quieter and cleaner, yet not too far from Castro Street."

When Hoodline stopped by on Friday, the business was busy, and many customers were happy to see the salon had reopened.
Longtime customer and Castro resident PJ Cherring tells Hoodline he's been coming to Castro Nail Salon for 16 years.
"Castro Nail Salon is a gem, full of colorful characters, and the staff always makes you feel welcome," said Cherrin.
"The new spot is fresh and bright, right on the corner across from Rainbow Liquors, another neighborhood favorite," added Cherrin.
Castro Nail Salon is open seven days a week from 10 am to 7 pm, by reservation or walk-in.
