Hoobastank is heading to Noblesville. The California rock band is scheduled to open for Staind at Ruoff Music Center on Saturday, September 26, 2026, bringing along its signature power ballad “The Reason” and the heavier, high-energy material that makes up most of its catalog.
The show at Ruoff Music Center, located at 12880 E. 146th St., is part of a bigger run for Staind, according to indy1033.iheart.com. The station reports that the 25-date trek will feature Seether as direct support, with special guests Hoobastank and Hinder as openers, bringing together four defining forces of modern rock for one massive run this fall. The Noblesville date falls under the Coors Light Concert Series banner, the outlet notes.
The tour itself has been in the works for months. myradiolink.com reported that Staind announced its Break The Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour on February 3, 2026, with Hoobastank and Hinder billed as special guest openers alongside Seether.
A Song That Refuses to Fade
“The Reason,” released in 2003, remains Hoobastank’s defining track more than two decades later, according to WISH-TV. The song has surpassed 1.5 billion streams on Spotify and 1.2 billion views on YouTube, according to syracuse.com, which also reports the track reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned two Grammy nominations.
Those nominations, for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, ultimately went to other artists. Loudersound also notes that the song's success propelled the album to shift over two million copies, cementing Hoobastank's commercial peak in the early 2000s.
New Generations Keep Finding the Hit
The song's staying power has as much to do with screens as it does with radio. WISH-TV reports that “The Reason” has been featured in Amazon's “The Boys,” Netflix's 2023 series “Beef,” and the show “Building the Band,” with TikTok also introducing the track to younger audiences. Loudersound separately reported that the song enjoyed a resurgence roughly two decades later after appearing in an episode of Friends, and that it became the soundtrack for a viral TikTok trend called #NotAPerfectPerson, in which users set personal confessions to the track.
Frontman Doug Robb has spoken about watching that second life unfold. Per WISH-TV, Robb said social media and television introduced “The Reason” to listeners who weren't around when it first reached radio, and he described it as crazy to see a new generation discovering the song. He also said the band is grateful people still connect with it, even as he's noted the track represents just one side of Hoobastank's sound — WISH-TV reports that the band's broader catalog runs about 89% more upbeat and heavier than the ballad that made them famous.
From a Garage in California to Arena Stages
Hoobastank's story began far from the charts. WISH-TV reports the band formed while its members were young and playing music together in California, getting its start in its members' parents' garage. Robb has said the band never chased fame and simply wanted to play the music its members loved, according to the same report — a mindset that appears to have paid off, since Hoobastank has maintained a fan base more than 20 years into its career and now counts about 16 million monthly Spotify listeners.
The band isn't simply coasting on nostalgia, either. Syracuse.com reported that Hoobastank released “How Do You Sleep?” in June 2026, its first new original song since the 2018 album “Push Pull.” Frontman Robb has also acknowledged the band's ongoing creative itch, telling theaquarian.com that he doesn't know if there are official plans for a new record but that the group has all been writing like crazy. Robb has also said the resurgence of “The Reason” has been building for roughly the last four or five years, according to the same outlet.
Noblesville concertgoers will get a taste of both eras of the band on September 26 — the arena-filling ballad that made Hoobastank a household name and the louder, heavier material that Robb says better represents where the band lives today.
