According to Fox 59, officers arrived to find an adult male inside a car with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, and as of the station's report, no further information about the victim or a possible suspect had been released. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the initial call came in just before 11:30 p.m., and the incident remains under investigation.
The block sits within Martindale-Brightwood, a historic residential neighborhood on the near northeast side located roughly four miles from downtown Indianapolis, according to real estate and municipal mapping records.
