The sixth annual Midvale Classic Car Show is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 19, at 7505 Holden Street. ABC4 Utah reported that organizers expect more than 280 classic cars and upwards of 5,000 attendees.
Event proceeds will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, according to ABC4 Utah. Midvale City places the show in the Main Street Arts & Culture District.
Main Street’s role in Midvale
According to Midvale City’s Engage Midvale, Main Street served as the city’s bustling heart when Midvale was founded in 1909. The city describes the area today as a mix of thriving businesses and vacant properties, presenting opportunities for revitalization.
Activities at the show
The family-oriented program is scheduled to include food trucks, a costume contest and a kids trunk-or-treat, ABC4 Utah reported. The event combines a community gathering with fundraising for suicide-prevention work.
Utah’s prevention resources
Veterans represented 5% of Utah’s population in 2023 but 12% of the state’s suicide deaths, according to figures from the Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs cited in a Hoodline report. Nationally, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs recorded 6,398 veteran suicide deaths in 2023, an average of more than 17 per day, according to the department’s 2025 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report.
In Utah, calls to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline are routed to trained clinicians at the Huntsman Mental Health Institute at University of Utah Health, with service available around the clock. The SafeUT app recorded 1,953 suicide-related tips during fiscal year 2025, an 18% increase from the previous year; counselors resolved about 70% of reported emergencies without law-enforcement or emergency-medical intervention, KSL News reported.
The Midvale show’s charitable proceeds will go to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, while the 988 line and SafeUT remain available to Utah residents seeking crisis support.
