A 47-year-old Slidell woman is facing charges that could put her in prison for life after investigators say she recorded the sexual abuse of a toddler and at least one other child, then sent the videos to a Mississippi man who had requested them. Lacy Amedio was arrested last Friday, and the man accused of asking for the recordings, 36-year-old Corey Monk of Walnut Grove, Mississippi, was taken into custody Monday.
According to kplctv.com, authorities say Amedio sexually abused the children and recorded incidents that she electronically distributed to Monk, at his request. The FOX 8 Local First report on the arrests notes that Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill's office said the case involved recorded sexual abuse of two children that was then shared with Monk. The Louisiana Attorney General's office said the joint investigation uncovered disturbing crimes committed against a toddler and at least one other child.
The case began, per the same account, with a private citizen's tip that Amedio was producing and sharing child pornography from St. Tammany Parish. That tip set off a multi-agency probe that the station's report says drew together the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, Slidell Police, the Scott County, Mississippi, Sheriff's Office and Mississippi's Attorney General's office.
Charges Carry Possible Life Sentences
Amedio faces two counts of first-degree rape that could result in lifetime prison sentences, the outlet reports. She was also booked with four counts of sexual battery of a child under age 13, six counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile, three counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and six counts of production of child sexual abuse material. Her bond was set at $2 million.
A separate booking report from mthermonwebtv.com, citing St. Tammany Parish jail records, lists Amedio's charges differently — two counts of pornography involving juveniles, indecent behavior with a juvenile, first-degree rape and sexual battery. The discrepancy between the two accounts of her charges has not been resolved with official court or jail records.
Monk, meanwhile, was charged with one count of being principal to first-degree rape of a child under 13 and one count of being principal to sexual abuse material involving a child under 13, according to the earlier-cited report. His bond information was still pending as of the latest update, and the investigation into both defendants remains ongoing.
Part of a Statewide Surge in Tips
The case lands amid a dramatic rise in reports of online child sexual exploitation across Louisiana. Investigators in the state had fielded more than 20,000 tips on online child sexual abuse by December 2025, already surpassing the total for all of 2024, according to American Press. Those tips led to 457 arrests statewide, with 70 child victims identified and 49 rescued, the newspaper reported.
The Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has described the growth as staggering: tips rose from 809 in 2013 to more than 13,000 in 2023, an increase the task force called nearly 1,200% over a decade, per American Press. Nationally, annual tips to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children climbed from 18.4 million in 2018 to 32.1 million in 2022, while financial sextortion reports jumped from 139 in 2021 to more than 10,000 the following year, the same report found.
St. Tammany Parish has seen other cases follow a similar pattern of tips triggering multi-agency action. In January 2025, the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit worked with the FBI and the Covington Police Department to conclude a multi-day child exploitation investigation that led to five arrests, according to the Louisiana State Police. Two of those arrested, Kevin M. Pierre and Mayfield J. Lee, were charged with indecent behavior with juveniles, computer-aided solicitation of a minor and attempted carnal knowledge of a juvenile, and both were booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center while their cases remained under investigation.
