Indianapolis is waking to a cloudy Sunday with a high near 69 degrees and only a slight chance of rain showers. The bigger weather story is still ahead: mild temperatures continue into Monday and Tuesday before showers and thunderstorms arrive Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Clouds And Spotty Showers Linger Into Monday
Sunday night stays cloudy, with a slight chance of showers and a low around 52 degrees. Light rain or drizzle could linger into early Monday, but any rainfall is expected to be minimal, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday brings another slight chance of showers before 1 p.m., followed by a high near 65. South-southeast winds around 10 mph could gust as high as 21 mph, making the day feel breezier even as temperatures remain mild.
Tuesday Looks Warm And Windy Before The Weather Turns
Tuesday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with partly sunny skies and a high near 75 degrees. South winds of 12 to 15 mph may gust up to 30 mph, so outdoor plans could be pleasant but noticeably blustery.
The updated outlook is a more active turn from Hoodline's Halloween forecast, with rain chances now becoming more pronounced Tuesday night. Showers are likely after 7 p.m., with a 60% chance of rain and rainfall totals potentially reaching a quarter-inch.
Showers And Thunderstorms Take Over Wednesday
Wednesday brings an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mostly cloudy skies and a high near 69. Winds from the south could gust up to 24 mph, and a few stronger storms cannot be ruled out, although the current outlook does not point to a widespread severe-weather setup.
Thursday stays unsettled with a 50% chance of rain and a high near 66, while Friday brings a smaller rain chance and a high near 64. By Saturday, Indianapolis should turn partly sunny and cooler, topping out near 62 with an overnight low around 43.
