Katseye's sold-out show at the United Center was postponed Thursday night just hours before the group was set to take the stage, with the K-pop-inspired sextet citing member Megan Skiendiel's illness as the reason. Fans who had tickets for the Chicago stop were told to stay home, since doors would not be opening after all.
“Tonight's KATSEYE show at the United Center has been postponed due to Megan's illness,” the group announced on social media, according to WGN-TV. The group added, “Please do not travel to the venue, as doors will not open,” and closed with an apology, saying, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.”
General-admission and VIP tickets will remain valid once a new date is announced, though that rescheduled date had not been revealed as of Thursday night, per the same report. CBS Chicago reported that fans who are unable to make the rescheduled show will receive refunds to their original payment method.
A Pattern Emerging on Tour
Thursday's postponement came just two days after Katseye scrapped its sold-out show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, also due to Skiendiel's illness. Page Six reported that Tuesday's Detroit cancellation came about 30 minutes before the scheduled start, as cited by WGN-TV, while Billboard put the notice at roughly 40 minutes before showtime. Billboard reported the group's message that night read, “Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight,” with Detroit tickets set to remain valid for a rescheduled date yet to be announced.
It wasn't the first health scare to hit the group's tour. At an October 27 stop in Boston, Skiendiel and fellow member Daniela Avanzini missed scheduled VIP pre-show activities due to illness, though both ultimately performed at that night's concert, Hoodline previously reported. TicketNews noted that both members were expected to join the main show in Boston, and that performance proceeded as scheduled.
Who Makes Up Katseye
Formed in 2023, Katseye consists of six members: Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza and Yoonchae Jeung, according to WGN-TV. The group has had a breakout year, with its EP WILD climbing to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in August, per Billboard.
Skiendiel's health has been a recurring complication for the group this year. The band previously withdrew from Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival after Skiendiel suffered a sprained ankle, Hoodline reported in earlier coverage of the group's touring troubles.
What's Left on the Schedule
Katseye's North American leg had been slated to wrap up Nov. 28 with the second of two nights at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, according to Billboard. From there, the group is scheduled to launch an Asia, Australia and New Zealand tour on Jan. 27, 2027, at Yokohama Arena in Japan. TicketNews reported that Katseye added 11 international performances across Asia, Australia and New Zealand for early 2027, expanding the group's reach well beyond the North American dates now in flux.
For now, Chicago fans are left waiting on a rescheduled date, with their tickets honored whenever that announcement comes.
