Hayes Valley specialty foods purveyor Flavour Shop will close its doors at the end of this month, after a year and a half in business. The shop, which opened in March of 2015, is holding a "half-off" sale on all items, including fixtures, until the store closes.

The store replaced longtime business the African Outlet, which relocated to Bayview in 2014 (here's the latest on their new location). Flavour Shop carried a selection of spices, spreads, gift baskets,  and treats from local farms, as well as regional Mediterranean importers.

The half-off sale is in effect.

Owners Mert Civan and Stephanie Valentino didn't share much about the closure, but Valentino stated that "We really enjoyed being here." The location, on the corner of Octavia and Ivy, saw light foot traffic, but the sale has attracted many to the store, according to the owners.

There's no word yet on a new tenant, but we'll keep you posted on what might be next for the space.
