A shooting in downtown Salt Lake City, which involved several teenagers but fortunately resulted in no injuries, has resulted in one individual being taken into custody. Details emerged following a disturbance reported late Monday night, just before 11:30 p.m., near the 300 South West Temple area. According to KUTV, the Salt Lake Gang Unit of the Salt Lake City Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls and apprehended a teenager following the incident.
Initial findings suggest that a physical confrontation escalated among a group of teenagers. During the altercation, a firearm was produced and shots were fired, as obtained by ABC4. Detective Weisberg said, "We are working to determine whether there was more than one person with a firearm." No casualties have been reported, which stands out as a grim serendipity amidst the chaos.
The Salt Lake City Police Department Gang Unit had detained several suspected participants in the shooting and the fight that preceded it. However, only a juvenile girl was arrested and charged with minor in possession of a firearm, FOX13 reported. The suspect's identity has not been disclosed, adhering to protocols concerning minors in the justice system.
