Last week, the Salt Lake County Clerk Election Division opened its doors to a group of nationwide election officials and administrators, providing an insider’s look into their Election Management Center. This event was part of the 40th Annual Election Center National Conference, an event dedicated to election administration excellence where officials from across the country come to exchange ideas and practices.
According to Salt Lake County, the Election Center, a key player in the field of election administration, highlighted the tour ahead of a three-day conference held in Salt Lake City. Hosting the conference, Salt Lake County had the honor of demonstrating its commitment to running transparent and efficient elections against the backdrop of Utah's majestic landscapes that patiently stood as silent witnesses to the event.
As obtained by Salt Lake County, the County Clerk Lannie Chapman boasted, “Salt Lake County is so proud to showcase the work that we do to ensure our elections are efficient, transparent, and secure.” Visitors were treated to a detailed walkthrough of the ballot processing operations and were introduced to the sophisticated equipment used in managing the votes of nearly 600,000 active registered voters.
