
In a tragic turn of events in Farmington, a young life was abruptly ended when a 13-year-old boy was killed while riding his e-bike. The incident took place yesterday around 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of 600 South 1525 West. FOX 13 reported the teenager was navigating his e-bike in the area when the collision occurred.
Witnesses reported that after the impact, a teenager was bleeding and not breathing. Despite attempts to deliver life-saving aid, including CPR, the adolescent succumbed to his injuries before emergency services arrived.
The circumstances surrounding the incident continue to be examined. Police have yet to determine if factors such as speed or impairment played a role in the fatality. The driver, believed to have been traveling northward, remained at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation, as stated by officials, reported by KUTV. Farmington Police Lieutenant Hansen emphasized the importance of e-bike safety, urging the community to "familiarize yourself and your families with the e-bike laws" and the procurement of necessary protective gear.
Notably, the young victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
