An 18-year-old Fishers High School student is facing multiple felony charges tied to alleged possession and sharing of child sexual abuse material, according to court records. Investigators say the case opened after a parent found an explicit video in a minor’s cloud account, which prompted a report to police and a search warrant that uncovered additional digital evidence. The investigation remains active as prosecutors and a regional task force work to identify victims and any possible co-conspirators.
Charges and court schedule
According to Current Publishing, prosecutors filed 13 felony counts against 18-year-old Carson Springer on April 6, including child exploitation and possession or dissemination of child sexual abuse material. The probable-cause affidavit states that Springer was enrolled at Fishers High School when investigators allege some of the material was created or exchanged. Springer is scheduled to return to Hamilton County Circuit Court on June 3.
What investigators say they found
Court documents describe a tip in fall 2025 from a family who reported a video discovered in a 14-year-old’s iCloud account. Forensic work traced the clip to a phone number that investigators say is linked to Springer. Police obtained a search warrant and carried it out at Fishers High School on Oct. 22, 2025, seizing an iPhone and a MacBook Pro where they allege hundreds of files were stored. As detailed by FOX59, detectives say they also located software that appeared to be used to generate AI-created nude images from photos of minors.
The affidavit cites at least one exchange in which Springer allegedly told a minor "it was our little secret," and investigators report finding five videos that they say depict children younger than 12. According to the filings, some material appears to show victims as young as 3, while other files allegedly show juveniles believed to be between 12 and 17. FOX59 reports that investigators are still conducting forensic analysis to confirm additional victims and to identify any potential distribution partners.
Victims and geographic scope
Investigators say they have identified alleged victims in several states and communities, including Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma, along with teens from Carmel, Mishawaka, Arcadia, Zionsville and Fishers. Some of the recovered material is believed to involve children under 12, while other files reportedly depict teenagers. As reported by Current Publishing, detectives allege that Springer traded images and videos with at least one other person who has not been publicly identified.
Task force response and local context
The Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Taskforce, a multi-agency unit based at Fishers Police, handled the investigation, coordinated the school search and managed follow-up work. That regional task-force model has produced other recent arrests as departments pool resources to track online exploitation, according to earlier coverage of similar operations. In 2025, Fishers-based investigators led a 2025 child sex-crimes sting documented by Hoodline. Fishers Police did not immediately release additional comment beyond what appears in the court filings.
What the law says
Indiana law treats child exploitation and possession of child sexual abuse material as serious felonies. Possession is typically a Level 6 felony, but the charge can be raised to a Level 5 felony if the material involves particularly young victims or other aggravating circumstances. The statute outlines definitions, aggravating factors and potential sentencing ranges that guide prosecutors. The full statutory language and aggravation rules are available in the Indiana code: Ind. Code § 35-42-4-4.
Next steps and how to help
Springer is currently charged and is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. Filings describe the investigation as ongoing while detectives pursue additional leads and interview witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fishers Police Department or submit tips through the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s CyberTipline. General contact details for the department are available on the Fishers Police website. Prosecutors and police have not yet provided further public comment.
