A stretch of Indianapolis' east side turned into a crime scene today after two people were found shot in the street in what investigators are calling a reported murder-suicide. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and a man who was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition also died a short time later, according to police. Officers told neighbors there was no ongoing threat as detectives remained on scene for several hours.
What Investigators Say
Officers were called to the area of E. 13th Street and N. Gladstone Avenue on a report of a possible shooting and arrived to find a man and a woman lying in the middle of the street with gunshot wounds, according to FOX59. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and died shortly after arriving, IMPD later confirmed.

Investigators told reporters they believe the man shot the woman, then turned the gun on himself. At this stage, police say no one else is believed to have been involved. Officers at the scene urged anyone who may have seen what happened or who has video from the area to come forward.
