One person is recovering in stable condition after being shot near East 30th Street and North Guilford Avenue on Indianapolis's near north side Sunday morning. Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a person shot and found the victim suffering from injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.
According to Fox 59, IMPD officers were sent to the intersection after the report came in, and located the injured individual there. The person was transported to an area hospital, where police say they were listed in stable condition as of the report.

The circumstances that led up to the shooting have not been detailed, and the incident remains under investigation, per the same report. No further information about a suspect, weapon, or motive has been released.
The stretch of North Guilford Avenue near 30th Street has been the site of gun violence before. A 2023 report from the Indianapolis Star noted that 17-year-old Ranyia Grundy died in a shooting near 30th Street and College Avenue that also referenced the 3100 block of North Guilford Avenue. Separately, a 2019 case detailed by WRTV identified William Wilson Jr. and his nephew, Kahdor T. Wilson, as victims of a shooting on Guilford Avenue, while a much earlier account from WTHR described an overnight shooting in 2005 near 30th and Andrew Brown Avenue.
