Open since 1966, the laundromat is scheduled to spin down in August.

"The beauty of this space is the garden. I really want that space open to people," said owner Angela Valgiusti.

The laundromat is set to become a restaurant, leaving neighbors behind with few other options.

The news comes as another shop in the area is also planning to close later this month.

Now found in 23 restaurants, MM Clay first became well-known for The Progress Collection, its collaboration with chef Stuart Brioza.

While the Hayes Valley flower store will be closing up, it won't be gone for good.

The New Seasons has been confirmed for a space at the 555 Fulton St. development, but it won't be opening until next year.

The opening represents a homecoming for the designer, who first started in retail with her shop Behind the Post Office on Haight Street.
