Though Aquarius recently closed for good, order will soon be restored to the male scalps of the Lower Haight with the addition of a semi-new barber shop on Fillmore Street.
The ladies of Dolled & Dapper salon at 320 Fillmore will soon be moving next door, into 316 Fillmore. That space was most recently home to Silky Touch salon, which merged with its larger offspring on Haight Street last January.
Dolled & Dapper's owners tell us the new space is twice as big as their current one, which they've occupied for a little over a year. The expansion will allow the D&D crew to add a barbershop, offering men's shaves, barber cuts, and men's skin care to their existing menu.
The name will remain "Dolled and Dapper Salon," and the new space will "have the same Old Hollywood feel we have now, but with a cool barber shop section," they tell us.
Relatedly, D&D is looking for two experienced barbers to join their team. If you're interested, get in touch.
If all goes well, look for the new and improved Dolled and Dapper to open in mid-January.
