San Francisco gets a brisk, mostly sunny Monday before clouds thicken and showers begin moving onshore Tuesday evening. The city starts the day in the mid-50s and climbs only to around 62 degrees, with west winds making the afternoon feel cooler along the waterfront.
Monday Brings Sun, Wind And A Quick Cooldown
Morning marine clouds around SFO and nearby neighborhoods should pull back by late morning or early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS aviation forecast says SFO-area gusts will peak around 25 knots, approximately 29 mph.
Light Rain Arrives Tuesday
Tuesday looks mostly cloudy with a high near 66. Showers begin moving onshore Tuesday evening. The NWS forecast gives a 20%–40% probability of lower aviation ceilings Monday night near the region; Hoodline gives Tuesday a 30% chance.
Showers continue Wednesday under mostly cloudy skies, with a 47% chance of rain and a high near 65. The wettest conditions in the broader region are expected south of San Francisco, while the city should see generally light totals.
Brighter By Thursday, But The Pattern Stays Unsettled
A slight chance of showers lingers Thursday morning before skies turn partly sunny, with a high near 64. Friday is the week’s cleanest-looking day: sunny with a high in the mid-80s. Saturday looks mostly sunny and warm, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
This is a sharper turn from Hoodline’s Sunday forecast of one more sunny Sunday before a cooler, unsettled stretch, with highs in the mid- to upper 60s; the new outlook brings showers onshore Tuesday evening, followed by widespread showers Wednesday. For San Franciscans, that means a jacket for the windy commute Monday and an umbrella within reach by midweek.
