Public Works expects to start construction on projects to improve the neighborhood's alleys next year.

A sewer drain at Polk and Hemlock streets, just outside of the Hemlock Tavern, overflowed during last night's rains, causing a geyser on the street. "It don't smell good," wrote a witness.
