On Monday, San Francisco drag icon, club owner, and LGBTQ community leader Heklina passed away unexpectedly.

Debuting back in 2017, UNDSCRVD SF — the Filipino night market that comes to SoMa come fall — will return for its sixth season on October 22nd for what organizers are calling its “biggest season yet,” complete with more artists, food pop-ups, and DJs than ever before.

A 2,500 square foot mural now proudly coats SoMa’s Oasis with a historical celebration of the LGBTQ performers who blazed the trail for the club scene of today.

After a 19-month hiatus, the non-profit venture UNDSCVRD SF will host its first in-person event on October 16, which will feature a culture crawl through the SoMa Pilipinas Culture District.

The ladies will be scantily clad, but men must adhere to a highly non-sexual dress code, when the old Slim’s reopens as YOLO Nightclub next Friday, June 18.

On Monday, SoMa nightclub Oasis (298 11th St.) unveiled an exterior mural dedicated to SF LGBTQ+ icon and disco legend Sylvester.

One San Francisco cineplex will reopen this weekend for the true movie theater experience, but with no concessions, small crowds, and of course masks required.
