Over the next few weeks and months, a handful of Castro neighborhood events aim to increase foot traffic and liven up the neighborhood.

On Monday, Mayor London Breed proposed a $360 million bond measure for the November election — including $25 million for the redo of Harvey Milk Plaza at the Castro Muni station.

While the days of the once-legendary Castro Halloween block party have long passed, plans are currently in the works for a community-based event with a costume contest, film screenings at the Castro Theatre, and storefront activations.
