"We're going to step up the cocktail game of the Castro," says Hi Tops' Jesse Woodward of his forthcoming restaurant and cocktail bar.

The company has declared bankruptcy and is closing locations across the country, with the Bay Area particularly hard-hit.

It's Tops' famed neon signage at Market and Octavia streets was removed on Wednesday.

"To see the surveillance video was so shocking to us," one of the owners of the Scandinavian inspired eatery said. "It is ridiculous."

Staff and case managers at the temporary camping site will have just six weeks to come up with a plan for the people who move there.

Originally set to become a private events space, the 47-year-old Castro mainstay is now shifting back into cafe mode.

San Francisco now has a total of 749 social-distancing circles across its city parks.

"It has been like the Castro’s own version of 'Cheers,' and we loved being your bartenders," said owner Phillip Rennick.

The suspect "is a person who has been known in the neighborhood for some time," said a legislative aide to Supervisor Rafael Mandelman.

In recent weeks, there have been several reports of overnight home burglaries in the area.

SF Rec & Park says it installed the circles in anticipation of what's likely to be a sunny, busy Memorial Day weekend for the parks.

With many murals already completed, more are on the way.

The effort will allow the triangle, which is usually installed by hundreds of volunteers, to be erected at a social distance.
